CalBudget 3.1: see further, plan anywhere

A clearer multi-month forecast, a more polished mobile workspace, and stronger account protection wherever you use CalBudget.

What changed

  • One-, three-, and six-month outlooksChoose the planning horizon that fits the decision in front of you. Monthly balances and net changes now use the full scheduled ledger instead of stopping at the visible calendar grid.
  • A smoother cash-flow chartBalance remains the primary signal while income and spending add useful context. Curved animation, exact month-start alignment, and a compact combined tooltip keep the chart calm and readable.
  • A mobile workspace made for touchNavigation, menus, modals, forms, controls, and responsive spacing now adapt intentionally for phones while preserving the desktop layout you already know.
  • Accounts and Categories within reachOpen both workspaces directly from the main navigation. Category setup now separates everyday category management from automatic categorization rules more clearly.
  • More consistent transaction focusThe transaction panel follows the Day Inspector width, opens with smoother motion, and keeps more of the calendar visible while you add or review activity.
  • Stronger account protectionPassword recovery now closes older CalBudget sessions, custom session lifetimes are tighter, and native mobile sign-in uses modern authorization-code protection.
More improvements

More included in CalBudget 3.1

  • More dependable forecast mathForecast requests now load the complete selected horizon, keeping chart points, month summaries, headline balances, and tooltips in agreement.
  • Cleaner dialogs and summariesDay activity, transaction editing, profile menus, help surfaces, and shared dialogs use softer visual structure and adapt more gracefully to available space.
  • Better navigation feedbackPrimary destinations are clearer and easier to reach, especially on compact screens, with improved touch behavior and resilient scrolling.
  • Safer sign-in and recoverySession revocation, password recovery, native authorization exchange, and external merchant lookups now have stronger safeguards behind the scenes.
  • More resilient mobile behaviorMenus avoid bottom navigation and device safe areas, long content remains reachable, and compact layouts no longer force the desktop interface into a narrow viewport.
  • Accessibility and polishKeyboard behavior, reduced-motion handling, responsive overflow, loading stability, control labels, and visual consistency have been refined throughout CalBudget.

v3.0.0 · July 31, 2026

CalBudget 3.0: your financial future, in motion

  • Meet the redesigned calendar workspace: a calmer neutral canvas, a compact navigation rail, clearer financial color, and a full-month layout that makes more of every screen.
  • Read more of the month at a glance with Net ahead, remaining Cash in and Cash out, days below the $250 cushion, and the next scheduled money move beside the core outlook metrics.
  • Follow your projected balance with a new report-style outlook chart. Hover any calendar day to move the chart focus, inspect that day’s projected balance, and switch between month finish and month change.
  • See each day more clearly with animated date focus, projected closing balances, positive and negative day totals, merchant logos, refined transaction color, and a day number that stays behind the activity.
  • Open or close the Day Inspector with a smoother transition and follow an animated balance-flow chart from opening balance through income and outflow to the projected close.
  • Add a one-time transaction directly inside a day with the new quick-entry row for title and amount. Only one quick entry stays open, and recurring schedules remain in the full transaction form.
  • Open transaction details immediately without a page refresh or skeleton interruption, then edit or delete from the same focused flow.
  • Move between months without the surrounding workspace jumping or flickering. Calendar navigation now keeps a single selected day, avoids stale automatic selections, and gives Today and the centered date control a consistent home.
  • Use the rebuilt left navigation for calendar, search, reports, notifications, help, account controls, theme switching, and sign out. Help and profile menus are cleaner and Latest Updates remains easy to revisit.
  • Choose light or dark mode from the navigation rail with a stable first paint, so the calendar no longer flashes the wrong green-tinted theme during refresh.
  • View more transactions in each day as the available space changes, with improved responsive density instead of hiding activity behind an unnecessary “more” count.
  • Reports now use a more purposeful chart palette so income, spending, balances, categories, and comparisons are easier to distinguish at a glance.
  • Sign-in and session recovery are more resilient, with improved handling for returning users and fewer interruptions while opening the calendar.
  • The public CalBudget experience has also been rebuilt with a cinematic, responsive story, clearer product explanations, and a design system shared more consistently across the platform.
  • Additional refinements improve keyboard and context-menu behavior, animation preferences, hydration stability, monitoring configuration, accessibility, and responsive layout throughout CalBudget.

CalBudget 2.2: plan with more confidence

  • Explore CalBudget before creating an account with an interactive live demo that recalculates future balances as you add sample income and expenses.
  • Test possible purchases, bills, and income changes up to six months ahead with new What-If Forecasts. Scenarios stay separate from your real calendar until you choose to add a transaction.
  • Use the new year overview to see upcoming balances, identify tighter periods, and plan important expenses further ahead.
  • Move between months and accounts more quickly with smoother loading, more dependable combined-account views, and better protection against outdated calendar data.
  • Recurring schedules are more reliable across daily, weekly, biweekly, monthly, semimonthly, and yearly plans, including month-end dates, February, leap years, edits, and deleted occurrences.
  • Transaction creation, editing, deletion, and search are more dependable, with clearer validation and better preservation of notes, categories, accounts, and recurring details.
  • Forecast explanations, low-balance warnings, multi-month projections, and suggested next steps are clearer and more consistent.
  • Statement imports, duplicate matching, and account balance reconciliation now provide more reliable results and clearer feedback.
  • Onboarding guidance is easier to follow, and a downloadable spreadsheet template helps prepare a budget calendar before importing it.
  • Additional fixes improve transaction creation, date handling, merchant icons, connection recovery, responsive layouts, accessibility, performance, and privacy throughout CalBudget.
